I have over twenty-five years of experience working with adults and families as they navigate health transitions in their lives, particularly in the area of chronic conditions and illness. This includes supporting older adults as they confront choices in later life with fortitude and strength, as well as assisting adults of any age seeking meaning within the context of a neurological diagnosis.

Addressing the needs of the “whole person” as well as the broader family system is an important part of my practice. I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach which targets both thoughts and behaviors and enhances coping for both clients and their loved ones. In addition, I’ve developed a “Healthy Family Care Framework” tool that offers guidelines for the anticipatory planning that is inevitably necessary with chronic health situations.
Finally, like many healthcare providers today, sometimes we “live our work.” My own journey has included caring for aging parents as well as supporting an immediate family member navigating the path of illness. All of this has also informed my practice and I look forward to working with you.
